Our Team

Ealing Film Festival was founded in 2020 by Annemarie Flanagan, Alan Granley and Peter Gould. Since then, several other film enthusiasts have joined the team.

Peter Gould

Co-Founder and Co-Director

Peter Gould is a writer and director, working for screen and stage. After a long career at the BBC, where he was a correspondent for radio and television, he taught broadcasting skills to MA students at City, University of London. In addition to being one of the founding directors of Ealing Film Festival, he works for The Questors Theatre in Ealing, where he helps to develop new writing for the stage. He is a filmmaker whose work has been screened at many festivals around the world, winning a number of awards. He has lived in Ealing for more than thirty years.

Annemarie Flanagan

Co-Founder and Co-Director

Annemarie Flanagan is a former BBC Radio and Television journalist and freelance news and magazine feature writer.  For many years she was Editor of the news and what’s on website, Ealing Today. Passionate about film and television, Annemarie completed a Master’s degree (MA) focusing on scriptwriting, with the highly regarded Raindance Film Festival. This ignited her desire to see such a Festival in her town – the home of film, Ealing. A people person, she loves to network and connect and the creative, sociable world of filmmakers, is the perfect environment to do so.

Alan Granley

Co-Founder and Co-Director

Alan Granley is passionate about film and watching film. He ran Ealing’s Classic Cinema Club for 10+ years with a dedicated team of volunteers before taking this experience forward to co-found Ealing Film Festival. When he isn’t watching a flat screen of some sort, he is passionate about all things recovery 😉 an avid photographer, a proud father of a daughter who works in television and film making documentaries.

Co-Director Kevin McGrath DL OBE.
We have rcently added Kevin as a Co-Director to our team and are very happy to welcome him. He adds a wealth of experience.
Kevin has a passion for the film industry and is the Executive Film Producer of a number of films including An Irish Goodbye, winner of an Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film at the 95th Academy Awards and winner of the Best British Short Film at the 76th BAFTA Awards.

Kevin McGrath is Principal of The McGrath Family Office (www.themcgrathfamilyoffice.co.uk), He has had a long career in business and made a personal commitment over the past 25 years to philanthropy and public service.

Event Planner & Coordinator

Anthony Coyle-Dowling

Anthony Coyle-Dowling is our Event Planner, who uses his creative skills to make our festivals such a special experience for filmmakers and audience members. The first live festival in 2021, he managed to turn a church hall into a very convincing cinema. Last year he went onto even bigger things at the Ealing Project. We couldn’t do any of this without him!
