Jane is Managing Trustee, Director and co-founder of the Amy Winehouse Foundation (AWF), a charity that works with young people to both prevent substance misuse and to promote recovery and also supports a range of therapeutic music programmes for children.
AWF’s core programmes are led by people in abstinent recovery who have lived experience of substance use: the Amy Winehouse Foundation Resilience Programme provides effective drug, alcohol and mental health education in secondary schools, colleges and communities; ‘Amy’s Place’ provides recovery housing and support in a safe and nurturing environment where young women can rebuild their lives.
Jane is a passionate advocate for recovery and promotes the value of lived experience in prevention, treatment and recovery support.
‘Stories told well can make things happen. If a story can connect to you and make you feel an emotion – whether it is sadness, anger, frustration or joy, then it can be transformational. I am looking forward to seeing how filmmakers can make this happen in a 15-minute timeframe’
